took a mini trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

what a beautiful day it was.

The last days of summer...

the leaves are changing colors and as much as i welcome fall, it is always bittersweet.

there are many things i welcome though...

i look forward to a good cuddle under covers,

the smell of fireplaces in the neighborhood,

the feeling of hot coffee warming your belly, warming your soul.

the road trips i will hopefully be going on to interview for my future!

this season change holds so much promise for me...

This is the beginning of a new day.

You have been given this day to use as you will.

You can waste it or use it for good.

What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.

When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever;

in its place is something that you have left behind...

I'm making things again

best thing that could've happened was my tv went out...

i was going to resign myself to another mindless night in front of the boob tube.

but it's defective. and i gave up trying to fix it.

instead, i got out my supplies, turned up the music, poured myself a glass of wine, and got to work.

i used my hands.

tearing paper,

creating rough edges.

creating something with my own two hands.

creating many things with just two hands.

glue on my fingers and a smile on my face i looked at the mess i've made...

the work was complete and i was completely elated.

then i pulled out my camera...

i just got to do two of my favorite things all because my tv went out.

and i enjoyed every minute of it.

i think i'll cancel my cable and maybe even my cell phone.

how much i could accomplish if all i was left to was my own devices!

Girls Trip

An impromptu girls trip led us to P-burg!

We went thrifting, dancing, and went to Gem Mountain to mine for sapphires!

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time :)
