afternoon sunshine

i curl into myself as tightly as i can

laying on the square of sunlight that pours through the window

and spills onto the livingroom floor.

warmth envelopes my body as the streaming sun

hugs my contorted frame.

feels like...

i'm fading into the background...

New Obsessions...

i am completely *O B S E S S E D* with light
and symmetry

and duality

and the absence of light combined with its presence

and hidden treasures found by opening the curtains

Baby it's cold outside

the patterns and shapes that form fascinate me

NEW YEAR

instead of resolutions of what SHOULD be done this upcoming year, I am saying goodbye to the things and people that hold me back from being my ultimate being... (inspired by http://learningtoloveyoumore.com/... assignment # 70)

GOODBYE...
fake smiles to fake people
being afraid of being lonely
denial of self, purpose, potential
mediocrity
self-doubt
to those that take advantage of my ability to see the best in others
to doing just enough to get by
co-dependency
fear of failure
being afraid of trying new things
FEARS
not being able to say no when that's all I want to do
trying to make others happy before making myself happy
to constant questioning of self, decisions, and life
half-empty glasses
half-hearted anything
compliance
to the past relationships that make me afraid of new ones
"friends" that were never there for me when they were needed most
selling myself short
to the trivial things that seem bigger than life at the moment
wondering when
wishing it was easy
weaknesses
goodbye to those who wish anything but the best for me

happy new year
this is my year!

'home' comings...

three hours on a plane & i go from snow on the ground to sunshine and gardens...
it's a different world in more than one way.
...and neither place feels like home...
