cotton candy colored sky
distracts me from reality
for a moment i feel light and free
but then the weight of the world
sits back on my shoulders
a sigh escapes my lips
sunshine streaks palm tree littered sky
false sense of warmth in the coldone step in either direction
and the chill creeps up my body,
engulfing each cell
i am shivering once again
it's all a beautiful blur
wishes kept in jars locked tightone day it will open
and the world will be mine
